What shud a guy take to Japan? |
Travel Info I will be goin to Japan with my dance team on the last week of July, and i have no idea as to what to take. What kinda clothes? What items? How much money for a whole week? What kinda food is there? Help!!! Travel Tips any kind of clothes they do wear clothes right? bring power adapeters cause I know they have different ones bring alot of money but you have to have it changed to yen or whatever the current donomination is Others Japan is relatively expensive. Take money...that is certain. They have a wide variety of food like any major industrial and technological country. Check the weather for the region you are going to in Japan. That will tell you what clothes to wear. Take normal items you would need for a week. You don't want to have to buy items like deodorant or toothpaste because of the language barrier. As far as food, stay away from Japanese delicacies. Stick to normal western style food as much as possible. Well, sushi is good if you like raw fish. Have fun over there! tons of money (travelers checks) everything is super expensive there and why not get some authentic decor for your apt. in addition to the souveniers for your friends clothes like you were going to seattle watch out for pick pockets take pictures of everything They love to golf there but it's really expensive you can pick up an adapter in kmart before you go it will be expensive in japan have soooo much fun I know you will my dad went to japan Take what clothes you normally where I did not change my clothes when i lived there for 11 years and came here. Also japan is not relatively expensive it is expensive. How much money for a whole week? That really depends on how much you want to bring and how much you want to spend. for what items just bring your usual stuff that you would take anywhere. Just because you are going to Japan does not mean you need extra stuff just take your regular stuff and that's it and some Japanese money of course go to the bank for that. As for what kind of food is there. Well if you go to Japanese restaurants the menu's will be in japanese. They do have a lot of raw stuff. One time i went into a traditional japanese place and just ordered from the images. later i found out it was raw horse meat lol. but the things that I liked are (cha-haung) rice and meat (gyosa) dumplings the really only fast food places they have are mcdonalds :D at least this is all in tokyo, if you are not in tokyo there will be more traditional restuarants...just take what you normally take and you will be fine Last week in July --think hot and humid. Could rain on you. Wear light weight clothes. And pack a jacket for the rain, and a sweat shirt for the off chance of a cool morning. Good walking shoes! Items? Well everything you need on a daily basis: toothbrush, comb, etc. Money, depends on what you'll be doing. If you'll be shopping the electronics shops, bring more. Lots of cool stuffs! Bring a camera or buy the latest one there. Transportation is superb. You can get anywhere by train and subway. Most Japanese are willing to help out if you ask politely. Surely your trip manager can answer most if not all these questions! Food: excellent. Just about any place to buy food displays their menu in realistic wax models in front of the store, so you don't have to worry about reading a menu. You simply point towards the models, the waitress will encourage you out and you point at what you want to eat, and your food is ordered. Raman noodle shops are excellent--so much better than what they call raman in US. Soba noodles are excellent. In the summer they are served cold with dipping sauce. oi-shi des (tastes excellent!) Most restaurants are much smaller than we see in the US. If you're staying in a big hotel, it won't look any different than any other big hotel, but take the time to get out of it and enjoy the very different culture Japan has to offer. |
