What is the distance from Iwakuni, Japan to Kyoto, Japan? |
Travel Info My brother will be stationed in Iwakuni soon, and I am considering visiting him. What is the distance between the two cities, modes of transportation and maybe sights to see along the way? Travel Tips The distance is 422km and 2h 30 min approximately, if you use Shinkansen.You have to change trains either in Hiroshima, or in Osaka. By bus it takes 9hours and 7100yen Iwakuni is famous travel spot. The most famous is the bridge, called "Megane-bashi"( Glasses), which is said to be the most famous bridge in Japan. There's beautiful garden there, Momiji-dani, many old samurai houses, and a castle. It is close to Hiroshima, and you could just stop by. Yamaguchi prefecture is famous for its puff fish (fugu), and lotus root dishes(yummy!). Hiroshima offers good okonomi-yaki.
