Travel Tips
Oshito-no-ishi
Next day they took me to the rock on the hill. We could look out over the outer rim of a great crater of Mt.Aso. They called the rock as "Oshito-no-ishi"."Oshito" means "Push (or open) the door" and "ishi" means "rock". The name of the rock was closely associated with Japanese mythology of "Ama-no-iwato".

"Oshito-no-ishi"

The rock gave me quite a turn. The pyramidal rock, height is 5.3 meters and periments is 15.3 meters, is attennded by Cromlech (Stone-alignment) surrounded. Although I couldn't look for the Sumer, I felt the place is nearby the mysterious space, sky. I'm sure people could comunicated with the universe just here.

This is what i found...You can click "ama-no-iwato" info from this website. Also you can see the picture of stone. Source(s): http://www.amateras.com/trip/japan/aso/n...
Other Travel Tips
There's that legend about the peaks of Aso.
They competed which one will grow faster. Finally, the youngest one, Neko peak asked the demons(oni ) to bring soil from Takeda and to put it on its head, while in return they were allowed to play freely in Aso.
Hearing about that, god Aso became very angry and hit several times his son on the head. Since then Neko peak is jagged like shark teeth.
Another one I personally like, because I gather legends about cats, is that the cats from that region, when they become 7years old, they go to Neko peak (here's a word play- cat in Japanese is neko, just like the name of the peak, but written in different letters.cat=鐚€丯eko peak = 鏍瑰瓙宀?.There they turn into humans and seduce travelers, party together and eat them while they sleep.
