Question about living in Japan...? |
Travel Info im a junior in high school right now, and i reeaally want to move to japan after collage. ummm.. here's my question, what classes do I prepare myself with (or what classes are recommended, for high school or for college) if im very serious about living there? or, more basically, how do I go about living there???>_< oh and also, am I at a bad start if I have low to moderate grades too? -average C person =D - i just want to move there so badly.. Travel Tips Japanese language class. People don't speak English in Japan. Others Oh, your'e the only one who knows your potential. You take up classes that will fit your interest, personality etc. For starters, you need to take Japanese language, writing, and culture classes. Since Japan has one of the highest cost of living, take classes or courses in college that are I.T. related. So you can land a high paying job. Other wise just be a waiter in a good hotel. Take HRM. You'll need at least a BA / BS degree if you plan on working there. And you will need above average grades. Living in Japan isn't easy. Sorry. Living in Japan is one thing, working in Japan is a completely different paradigm. To live in Japan you need to learn Japanese and that includes how to read and write the 3 different character sets. You will need a substantial income as Japan isn't all that cheap. If you want to work in Japan then you will need a 4 year degree so that means at least a BA. This of course means you need good grades. Once you get this you need to fill out the necessary forms at immigration as well as getting a certificate of eligibility (COE). If you're unskilled then your choices of jobs are pretty slim and you'll probably wind up being an English teacher at around 250,000 yen a month. This isn't a lot of money but it's survivable by Tokyo standards if you don't go out drinking too often. If you want more money you need a better position like assistant language teacher in a school. If you want more money than that, you'll need some kind of skill like in IT. Then you apply to all the foreign banks and insurance companies and then you start making some serious coin. The other way to get a visa is to find a nice Japanese girl to marry. The problem with this has to do with the Japanese mindset. The majority of women have one ambition, to find a rich husband, get married, get pregnant and become a housewife that then controls all the finances. They'll also demand that you get a better job if you're not making enough money. So if you really want to move to Japan, I suggest you start studying hard for your future. |
