If I go travel to Japan for vacation, how can I expand my stay? |
Travel Info Right now i'm planning on going for a week with a host family. Can I extend my stay with volunteer programs or some work that will pay me? I only have $3,000 and thats all i'm going with. Just wondering how I can further my stay. I live in the US. Any advice helps! Travel Tips Depends on how long you plan on extending your stay if it is past what your visa allows you will have to find someone of residence there to host you. If your going to be by a military base apply to work on the installation and that will give you authorization to stay for work. Just be sure not to stay past your alloted time with out permission and verification. Others If the host family likes you, they should let you stay for free. If you want to stay with the host family, you'll need to talk with them personally. If not, stay in a hotel. If you want a job, the minimum requirement is a university degree. www.gaijinpot.com If you're on a tourist visa, you can NOT do paid work, but I'm not sure about volunteer work. If you get a working holiday visa instead you can stay longer, but I don't think the US is part of that program. |
