Skiing in Japan?

I am looking for a good ski resort near tokyo on 1/4/08-1/7/08,I have been looking at Kusatsu,Fuji Tenjinyama Ski Resort and some resorts in Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture. Are these good resorts or are there other better resorts nearby.

As the easiest and convenient way, I recommend going to Yuzawa by "shinkansen (the rapid express train).
Yuzawa is one of the most famous ski resort in Japan, and is visited by hundreds of thousands of skiiers from Tokyo or Kanto area every winter.

To start skiing there, you have only to bring yourself and get on the shinkansen at Tokyo (or Ueno) station. About one hour after that, you will get to Echigo Yuzawa station, and a few minutes later, you will arrive at "Gala Yuzawa" station, which is the winter-only station for skiiers. The station is directly connected to ski slopes and has a rental ski shop inside.
