Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel, Japan Dimensions? |
Travel Info I'm trying to find out the overall dimensions of the old Imperial Hotel built in Tokyo by Frank Lloyd Wright and torn down in '68 Just roughly the length, width and height of the entire edifice. Please help if you can. Travel Tips Do a search on the Meiji Mura "theme" park and see if you can get some info. Someone mentioned that part of the hotel was moved to a park--which would be Meiji Mura. Others You would have better luck on a Frank Loyd Wright website. LIke you say, the present Imperial Hotel has nothing to do with Wright. I think the original entrance is preserved at some theme park. Interesting question. Some ideas : On this page http://www.oldtokyo.com/imperial1923-2.h... you will see this photo http://www.oldtokyo.com/postcards/imperi... Measure the size of a car and the width of the building to get an idea of its width. On this page http://www.greatbuildings.com/models/imp... there is a digital model of this building. Maybe it has the exact size, maybe not (it looks something like 468 x 272 x 80) whatever units that may be. On this page http://www.amazon.com/frank-lloyd-wright... there is a book which is supposed to contain floor plans. Maybe you can find it in your local library. Good luck. Check with the Frank Lloyd Wright museum in Chicago, its near Ohare Airport. They are very kind and will help you with that information, and I'm sure that they had a book on it as well. Wright liked Japan very much, so there would be enough information there. |
