How much money would i need to bring with me if i was to move to tokyo? |
Travel Info i have always dreamed of moving to japan. and all i need to know is 1. how much money will i neeed. 2.do they have an american or international college or university there. and 3. where could i live?! Travel Tips The International Christian School ( ICU) in Tokyo is an English speaking international school. Living quarters are extremely hard to find and Japan is an extremely expensive place. I would bring at least 20,000, if you're planning to move there. If you want to visit, it should be about 5,000 a week. Others First, you will need to apply for and be granted a visa to visit Japan. If you wish to live there for an extended tme, work there, go to school there...those things require special visas. it is very difficult to get work or study visas to Japan. the application will tell you what the financial requirements are. You must be able to show that you can totally suport yourself while there. You can go to the website below to get visa application information. You would definitely need to be accepted to a school before moving here. I would also agree with the $5000 per month suggestion. There are several international schools here. The further from Tokyo you are, the cheaper everything becomes. Finding housing, expecially with little or no japanese skills, by yourself would be darn near impossible, if you don't have someone who's taken care of such things before to help you. I've heard its really expensive to live in Japan, of course there are international universities and colleges (just letting you know) Maybe Tokyo or Osaka is good. And maybe you should bring $500,000. |
