How do I format my Japanese address for amazon.co.jp shipping info section? What is Address Line 1 etc.? |
Travel Info I'm trying to buy Harry Potter 7 from Amazon.co.jp and have it shipped to my homestay address in Chiba prefecture... how do I format this according to the Address Line 1, etc. model? Here's the info I have to work with: x-xx-x Nanatugi-dai, Shiroi-shi, Chiba-ken, (postal code #), Japan Please help! Travel Tips America= starts small, gets big (house number,street, city, state, zip) Japan = starts big, gets small (zip, prefecture, town, (cho, ku, gun, etc), house number ) Japanese address format is opposite of ours in the States. You would start off with your postal code, then the name of the city, then the ku (if one exists), then the cho (if one exists), then the house number. Since you're ordering from Amazon in Japan, it's assumed you are ordering from inside Japan. Your order would be: Postal code Chiba ken, Shiroi-shi, Nanatugi-dai, x-xx-x They should tell you where to put what. Other Travel Tips I think once you type in your country the form should switch over. Postal code would be included under zip code. Chiba would be the prefecture (or state), Everything before that on address line 1 and if you need more space, line two. I assume you've turned on English ordering for amazon.co.jp? If so, enter your address one line at a time in the Western order, just as you've posted here. Bought stuff from amazon.co.jp with a Western address Just enter your information in as you normally would. For example: Name of place (if your building or area has a name), x-xx-x, Nanatugi-dai Shiroi-shi, Chiba-ken Postal code Japan If you still don't know the answer, email to their customer service. Japanese Amazon is pretty good at responding to your emails. I've emailed them twice before and got detailed response back within a day, both times. |
