Working Visa Questions WHY SO COMPLICATED FOR RETURNERS? |
Travel Info Okay I worked in Japan I had to leave my mother was ill while I have been back my working visa has expired. I am finding it tough to locate pre-schools & kindergartens that will deal with sponsorship - they seem happy to employe me but can't deal with the sponsorship - I think they like to fly under the radar. Who can apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for me in Japan? Can it just be a person or will it have to be a company? Can I go over on 'holiday' (90 days for Brits) get a job then appply for a working visa or do I have to submit the Certificate of Eligibility to the Japanese Consulate in my own country. Japanese red tape can be really annoying is there anyway around it that works !!! Oh and before the suggestion I am too old for a Working Holiday Visa. Please help I want to get back to my 'home' in Tokyo. Travel Tips I went to Japan on a working visa 2 different times. I didn't have any problems with the second visa. DO NOT OVERSTAY a visa. The Japanese government is very strict. If you go on a holiday, then make sure you have a working visa by the time your 90 days are up. Others Japan is famous for keeping Japanese jobs for Japanese. I am glad to hear things seem to be working out for you. Even though you left for a perfectly legitimate reason, it still comes across as a "risk" for employers who have never met you. If a school can hire someone who already has a visa it just makes it that much easier for them, so that is what they prefer. I think meeting potential employers in person can make all the difference. I would go as a tourist and check out some places, do some interviews; then to actually get your visa you could just leave the country for a week or so--take a short vacation in Korea, HK, etc. |
