Why are the Japanese people such a good culture.?

Travel Info
I have been to Japan and WOW they are one of of most repectful and friendly cutlure I have ever met in my life.

Travel Tips
I traveled in Japan for a month last year and I have to go along with the asker that the people there, barring a few exceptions are very friendly and good people.

They are brought up in very packed and tight conditions, houses/apartments are tiny, the streets are truly crowded, and the like. From an early age, they are brought up to preserve the Wa (harmony) and not to say or do things that disturb the harmony. This need to preserve the wa is also probably a big part as to why there is such a low crime rate in Japan as a whole.

Now, I did come across some different people who were definitely more outspoken than other Japanese people, one of them, who insisted that we always call him Mo-chan was the leader of a hospitality club that operates out of Shizuoka (and makes frequent trips to Tokyo), He throws parties whenever he can, and the turnouts are generally pretty large, anyone is welcome, no matter if they are a CEO or a street cleaner, he also invites travelers to his parties, and frequently there are at least 3-5 travelers at the parties. After a party in Tokyo, 4 of us (me, a girl from finland, a girl from korea, and a young man from germany) all rode down to his place in Shizuoka, we had another party when about 20 of his friends from around the neighborhood, we cooked, ate, had a great time, we went to an onsen, slept on futon, and in the morning he took us to tea ceremony in a little tea house) He was rather loud overall, out of the ordinary for a typical Japanese person.

People have a genuine respect for others, when I lost an item in Akihabara, I checked at the local police station, they called the main office, and someone had found, and turned in the item, I was able to go pick it up, and I was extremely pleased to get it back.
Others
Respectful and friendly? True, maybe. But how does one reconcile the fact that Japan is the most homogeneous society in the world?
reallyy?
when i went..that wasnt the case..
koreans are much nicer in my experience(:
Polite speech and avoiding offending people is a part of the Japanese language, and also is stressed in their culture. Since you were a guest, they would certainly want to treat you with even greater respect.

The Japanese are not always respectful and friendly, but evidence of displeasure or discontent can be subtle (or completely hidden). Other Japanese people would not appreciate a Japanese person who is very outspoken and highly opinionated (although they do exist!).
"chief8" =(Philippines)
"s a r a h h h (:" =(Korean/probably South)
By the looks of their questions and answers on their profile, it sounds like they've never went to Japan and doesn't know much about that country.
PS: They're nice, and respectful. But they don't really like to be told as being the "best". Because they know that others that does not like that statement would come and say something bad about it. They don't really like to be compared with someone or something else.
because as a child they are taught to be humble despite your social ranking.
everyone in school has to clean the classroom so it slike everyone is on the same rank.
Very hesistating question to answer...

I doubt Japanese culture deserves to be called good culture.
As every other culture has admirable and unpopular traits, I wander all of Japanese culture might not be able to suit you.

Travel other countries, probably you'll find more respectful and friendly culture than ours.
