Question about visiting tokyo? |
Travel Info i`m currently planning a round the world trip and at the moment i`m thinking or flying in from beijing ( which will only take a few hours ) then spend a couple of full days in tokyo before moving onto taipai i was wondering would 2 and a bit full days give me enough time to see the major sights and areas in tokyo. ideally what i`m looking at doing is exploring shinjiku harajuka shiubya and akusaksa and the oedo spa. does anyone have suggestions about what else i should do ( ideally i want to see examples of tokyo and japans history and culture) other questions how expensive are the platform boots that are popular with the japanese girls. how well is english spoken if i speak english slowly and clearly will i be understood. so i can travel on a budget hwhat are the budget hotels like in japan and how much do they cost. when i say the budget hotels the type i am reffering to are the one where you almost sleep in a box Travel Tips You should visit the Emperor's Palace and Tokyo tower, for sure. There's an Fodor's Book with the Top 25 things you should see in Tokyo. Pick it up. Footwear depends on the brand, like in the US. Comme des Garcon or Gucci is a hell of a lot more than less popular brands. Sales are also common. Japan is a shopper's paradise, so look around fro deals. But budget like $100 for new. English is very well spoken, but you need a phrase book for every country to go to . There's always a couple words you're gonna encounter that'll confuse somebody. The "capsule" hotels are 50,000 to 60,000 Yen and are for men only. I enjoy them pretty well. Also check with Hostelling International, you may find something in the 40,000 Yen range with a youth hostel. Others I do not knnow the answer to any of your other questions but a lot of people in Japan know English. Especially in Tokyo. have fun It is too bad you can only stay for 2 days. I think that will be enough time. Just keep yourself busy. Take the subways and trains to travel. Don't take taxis. See the Tokyo Tower near Roppongi and the Imperial Palace near the main Tokyo Station. Those are the only 2 additional things I can think of. English is understood but people might have a hard time responding. You can get by, though. Signs are in English too. Sorry but I don't know about the boots. There are many capsule hotels all over Japan. Regular hotels are small too. Toyoko Inn is a good one for 6,000 yen. $55. http://www.tourism.metro.tokyo.jp/englis... Shibuya and Harajuku can be done in a day (they r right next to each other) these are also probably ur bestbet for boots. For a temple go to Asakusa i would recommend going to Odiaba although it would probably take most of a day. the hotels r very expensive and u dont get much for ur money so book b4 hand and dont expect to much. oh yeah they r not very good at english but sometimes u get lucky try and learn a few key words. |
