Is Japan a good place to have a vacation? |
Travel Info I like the culture, but I heard its just crowded. I'm not the type to go there just because of the whole Anime fandom that the youth is so washed up about. Travel Tips I have lived in Japan for the last 8 years. It is a great country to see and only in the big cities is it crowded. The majority of the country is countryside and very spacious and interesting. People don't really speak English, but if you have an open mind, are patient and looking for an adventure, it is perfect. The people in the countryside are very sweet, enthusiastic about meeting foreigners, and will help you out as best they can. A good place to visit is Kyoto. It is a city and the cultural capitol of the country. I lived there for 2 years and it is amazing. It is not overcrowded at all, but it is not cheap. If you get a good guide, like Lonely Planet or Foders, you can make a great vacation plan. Good luck. Email me if you need or want more advice. Others no its not trust me! the people are so bad at English you cant even understand them! i would prefer Hawaii, Rome, Paris, etc. It's expensive, period. I want to live there someday though. Well,if you want to know more about their culture, why not?But Japan weren't a place to make vacation, cause they are not a warm and hospitable people. Unlike in other countries, who always try to give a warm welcome to every foreigner or tourist that visit their country. And I think it's not because that they can't speak english, but it's something more that inside of them. Oh yeah. I would go there myself for one if I had the money. Don't go to Tokyo. Stay in Kyoto 3 days. and fly to Okinawa or Hokkaido 7 days is the best. Please enjoy Japan. (don't forget international driving license for both area.) If you know some Japanese locals and they would be willing to let you stay with them, it is an excellent place to come as they are very accomodating and can take you places. I came here for 10 days on my first trip and stayed with friends. I had a truely, truely truely AWSOME time! Coming here on your own would be a bit challenging unless you came on a tour or was willing to do the whole backpacking, adventure type of thing. The culture and way of doing things is very different and can be both very thrilling or very confusing, even frustrating at times. For example, many it is hard to find accomodation at the last minute unless you go to a business hotel or love hotel (sometimes it is hard to tell which is which and both can be expensive and nasty at the same time, other times you may feel like you have won the lottery the place is so cheap and so cool!) if you go to non-touristy areas you may find things hard to figure out as not everything is in English (including train stations and menus). My husband is Japanese and sometimes even he gets confused when we take a trip here! |
