I saw a photograph of a large fountain inside a building. Maybe it was a mall, i don't know, but I'm trying to find out where this place was.

It's not in underground but inside a building. It's VinusFort. A shopping place in Odaiba, Tokyo.

Post a link to the pic or something like that. your description is a little vague.
Best bet would be somwhere in major Tokyo. or Roppongi. Those are the only places that might have an underground mall. I am not sure. If it is a large ornate fountain it might even be in a train station. Try and find the pic again and look in the background really close. There could be Signs telling you where it is. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

You may be referring to Haneda Airport terminal.
There is a large fountain about 2-3 floors high surrounded by 2-3 elevators and shops.
