How far is Chiba from Tokyo? |
Travel Info Hi everyone! I am thinking of teaching English in Japan for a year. I have a Japanese friend in Chiba, so it would be really beneficial for me to live near her. I'm very interested in Japanese film and music, so I would like to be near Tokyo as well. How far is Tokyo from Chiba. I've been reading that they are connected (like just about anywhere in Japan) by railway. Is it expensive to travel from Chiba to Tokyo? How long does the trip take. Thanks for your time. Travel Tips Depends on what part of Chiba. The prefecture is adjacent to Tokyo. Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/chiba_prefe... and http://web-japan.org/region/pref/chiba.h... If you live in any of the towns in the northwestern section of Chiba (such as Ichikawa, Matsudo, Funabashi) the train commute into Tokyo will be short and convenient (30 min). However, it will probably be crowded during rush hour, but that's just part of living near Tokyo. It's not too expensive to use the local train from Chiba to Tokyo. Look at: http://www.zone81.com/arch_sections/trai... Try "funabashi" as the start point, and "tokyo" as the destination. Press 'search' to get to the next screen. At the bottom, select the Charge fare as "unreserved seat", and press 'start'. It costs 380 yen, about US$3.20 for the trip and takes 24 minutes. The bad thing about this site is you have to know the names of the train stations you are starting/finishing at. Downtown Tokyo is in the center (surrounded by the Yamanote Line). Chiba is to the right. This is a great resource if you are going to be using the trains there. Hope this helps. If you need more advice, let me know. I lived in Zushi (station is at the bottom left of the map on the Yokosuka Line) for 3 years. Others Depends on where in Chiba to where in Tokyo. From Chiba city to the middle of Tokyo, probably 45 minutes. Take a train. It'll probably cost about 1,000 yen. http://www.hyperdia.com/ Chiba is just next to Tokyo,but the answers to your question depend on which city you would be in. I live in Chiba prefucture(Kashiwa city) and am working in Tokyo.it takes within 60~90min. to most of central Tokyo and the Chiba-Tokyo 1 day rail pass ticket costs about 10$. |
