Gothic Lolita? |
Travel Info I am really into the Gothic Lolita fashion style that's really big in Japan right now. On my trip to Tokyo next year does anyone know of any shops there that sell this style? And also does anyone know any On line store that sell good quality yet affordable Gothic Lolita fashion that's in English. Travel Tips Like the other person said, the Harajuku district is the place to go. One of the best stores there is Metamorphose (http://www.metamorphose.gr.jp/english/)... but there are normally maps of all the good places to shop in the Japanese Gothic Lolita publications. Here are some good websites for Lolita clothing: http://www.candyviolet.com/ http://members.aol.com/retroscope/index.... http://www.mfashion.nl.nu/ http://www.inthestarlight.com/ http://www.crimsonempress.com/ Source(s): http://www.sf-lilith.com/favorite_links.... Other Travel Tips I've seen some of those people hang around Harajuku on Sundays. If you speak a little Japanese maybe you can ask them where they purchased their clothes from. The place to find these people would be Yoyogi park its very close to the train station. I was there last year on vacation There are several places in Akihabara that sell gothic lolita fashion as well as maid outfits All you have to do is visit Harajuku. It is crawling with "Harajuku folk". Harajuku there is only one main train station. I believe it is the blue line but it has been a while. Once you exit the train station go right and walk about 2 blocks, you will see a bridge heading into the park that is full of Lolita fashion people. Unless you are fluent don't bother talking to them, they do not like anwsering questions, they are there for pictures. For shopping if you are at the train station again there is a cross walk right in front of the train station. Go straight. There is a large LED screen playing commercials all day, a coke-cola store, and I believe it is a donut shop. That street in the middle heading downhill go. That is the spot there is about 3 blocks of hidden stores directed to that culture. Expect to pay top dollar for everything. A t-shirt will cost you 7000-8000 yen ($70-80american) If you want to see the "scene" look for any flier advertising "Midnight mass" "Gothic Tokyo" or anything like that. Another tip if you go to the Naval base(it is about an hour train ride from Tokyo) Yokouska Chuo station look for sailors dressed Goth. Best bet would be the Rock City bar. befriend these guys. They live there and know how to get everything. If they are not in Rock City, try Angelo's, or a bar called F.uck Yeahs. Good luck it is a crazy thing to see. |
