I am military spouse and bought the phone in japan and i am now in the states... How do i cancel my contract online?

I am not military, but I also have a Softbank (Vodafone) mobile phone. I am leaving at the end of the month and the FAQ from Softbank's website says you have to cancel at the store, because they want to take the 3G sim card out of the phone. I had to cancel my Vodafone (Now Softbank Mobile) when leaving Japan last April.
I called the customer service and asked for the termination, then they sent me the termination form which I had to sign and send back. You would have to either do the same or go to the store. I don't think they accept the termination request online.
I guess what you could do is call them (or have someone in Japan call them) to ask them to send the form.
