Not that much........... go to 99 yen shop and youll be amazed on the variety of choices your 100 yen can get...from ramen,fruits,veggies down to toiletries .see for yourself! Go to the hyaku en shop, you can buy anything there! Considering that it's roughly equivalent to 90 cents US, you'd be surprised how much you can buy. Japanese McDonalds have a 100 yen menu. Even better, in most areas you can find little hole-in-the-wall noodle restaurants serving giant bowls of steaming soba or udon for only 100 yen around lunchtime. An extra 100 yen will buy you a couple skewers of grilled chicken, pork, or squid to go with it. Then, as others have mentioned, the ubiquitous 100 yen shops in Japan put to shame American dollar stores with the breadth and quality of their merchandise. I've bought everything from umbrellas and USB cables to dishes of fresh fruit salad all for 100 yen each. |
