Where do you get the crazy harajuku clothes? |
Travel Info Not Gwen Stafani's 'Harajuku Lovers'. I mean like really cute but crazy Harajuku clothes from Japan? For Western sizes, of course. Thanks! God Bless! Travel Tips I've been to some boutiques with one of a kind items.... but mostly the girls wear thrift store clothing that they combine into the wildest ensembles. Stockings/leggings/legwarmers; some kind of frilly, almost juvenile clothes; then some wacky post punk item.... it's all just thrown together in a wonderful, funky way. Harajuku is such a fun area -- there are many magazines in Japan that profile that whole style. Maybe you can find some on ebay. Others Harajuku. In American thrift stores of course. I think Japanese shopkeepers go to the US, buy heaps of stuff for dirt cheap and then mark it way up and resell it in Harajuku. Of course, if you're talking goth, that's different. But if you mean normal colorful crazy, those are western clothes. A lot of the Harajuku girls make/modify their own clothes. "Home economics" is a strong point of Japanese schools-at least for girls, and a lot of families still own sewing machines. It's one sure way to have a outfit that's all your own without spending a lot of money. Probably Harajuku~hehe ;) |
