My kids are staying at the Sleep Inn in KC right now.

It's nothing fancy, just a nice little hotel close to the airport, $69/night, free airport shuttle, free high-speed Internet, free breakfast (biscuits & gravy, waffles).
There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance.

I got a list of hotels and called the one we liked the best.
