I would like more info on passenger trains in the USA. Want to get 1 city to another. Getting tired of flying. |
Travel Info I do NOT want touring trains. Just a better & easier way to get from one city to another. Have an Amtrak station near by. Need to go to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Amtrak website would not give me any info. Even though they have stations in both cities. Travel Tips Amtrak is the only inter-city passenger railroad operating in the United States, and serves over 500 destinations. The two easiest ways to get Amtrak train, schedule, fare, and reservation information is to visit www.amtrak.com, or call the Amtrak Reservation Center at 800.USA.RAIL. You mentioned that you didn't have any luck using the Amtrak website. I thought I'd check, too, to see if I would experience similar trouble, but I was able to use the Fare Finder to get fare and price information without any problems. I checked for train service operating between the Kansas City area and Fort Lauderdale and found two different one-way itineries, ranging in price from $190 and $271. The trip will take approximately 50 hours each way. There is a Hot Deals / Special Promotions / Discount page where you can learn about any discounts you may be eligible for (ex., Student Advantage, AAA, military discount, etc.). They even told me how I could get a discount on my ticket at that time. |
