Has anyone visited Yellowstone National Park in late sept. hwat can you do and see that time of year? |
Travel Info Looking to go to Yellowstone in late sept. We really wan to see and do alot, but not sure what it is like that time of year, anybody been there? Travel Tips We've been there in end of september and had rain and snow and temperatures in the 40ies . it wasn't really funny to wake in our RV and seeing all the tents with snow on it. But 2 weeks later, there were 70 degrees fahrenheit ( but cold nights ), and we spent a beautiful time there with hiking, driving around and do some sightseeing. So I think, take some warm clothes with you ( only in case ) and have fun, no every year the weather is so bad as it was when we travelled. have fun K. Others We went in mid-June...actually, we just drove through on our way to Seattle. Check out their website: http://www.nps.gov/yell/ It should give you info. about visiting different times of the year. Hi, I was there in mid July this year. The rangers said that the snow begins to fall and can accumulate as early as Sept.As far As I know, the park is open. Some highlights are the Upper and Lower falls, the Norris Geyser basin, the Upper, Midway and Lower Geyser Basin, Fort Yellowstone,The Terraces, Hayden Valley. What an incredible place. If you come in from the South Entrance make sure you stop at the Grand Tetons.Enjoy!! |
