Travel Info Does anyone know the best town to live in in Kansas??? And why? Travel Tips Lawrences. Its were I call home. Its good sized, but not huge and overwhelming. It has lots of parks, museums, shops, clubs, etc. A thriving music scene that ranges from new to older acts, big name bands to new groups on the music scene. Its a great place to be yourself in. Most people are open-mind and friendly. Others Totally depends on what you are looking for. I currently live in Shawnee, which is a suburb of Kansas City. It is a wonderful city as far as crime rates go and the Shawnee Mission School District is one of the top districts in the US. Our home is a small home - 3bd/1ba 100 sqft valued at $135,000. Shawnee is a stone throw away from Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Merriam... although I would suggest to go south before I would north (closer into Kansas City). Again, just depends on what you are looking for. If you are single and looking for a city type lifestyle, there are a ton of new lofts in the downtown area, so in that case, I would advise you to look more in the north area... Hope that helps... Manhattan is nice. Small town atmosphere, but the college brings in cultural stuff, fun, bars, shopping places, etc. Cheaper than KCK. |
