Which route from Kansas City to Emporia? |
Travel Info I'm taking a road trip Friday from MN to KS, and want opinions on part of it. 1. Google maps shows the route from Kansas City to Emporia as I-35 to I-635 by the airport to I-70 to KS turnpike to Topeka to I-335 to Emporia. or: 2. I-35--I-435 around KC--then continuing on I-35 to Emporia. This is the route I've taken in the past. Which route is better? Any KC folks here? Is traffic around the airport bad? I'm not opposed to trying the turnpike from KC if people think it's better, or should I continue wit route 2 like always? Thanks. Travel Tips Personally, I like the turnpike. Better roads; less traffic. If I remember right it's only $3.50 from Eastern terminal (mile marker 236) to Emporia (127). Check www.ksturnpike.com for road construction and conditions. Others From Minnesota to Emporia, you should be able to take I-35 all the way. The time you are coming through downtown Kansas City will make a difference. It is an easy drive. Have a safe trip! |
