Used to be stationed there. It is DEFINATELY better than Ft Leonardwood,Missouri........by a long shot. It is a typical Military town in the middle of Kansas. It snows there in winter and is hot in Summer. Ogden is a small town right outside the post,and it isn't much to look at. The nearest larger city I would go to is Manhattan but Topeka is the best place to go shopping etc. Junction City is also right outside of the Post but it is just a town with lots of Bars,and the problems that plague all Military posts. It DOES have lots of History and it is a nice place to live ON<but NOT outside of. I used to live on Hood Drive which is just down from the PX and that was a nice area. I did NOT like the Commissary at all. Just an FYI. Hope it helps. Good luck while at Big Red 1!!!!
