What is the sales tax in Kansas, MO? and what is the minimum wage? Is the minimum wage comparable to living? |
Travel Info cost out there? Thank you for the excellent answers on MO guys/girls, I really appreciate this! Travel Tips Sales tax for Kansas City, Mo is broken down into counties: Cass: 6.6% Clay: 7.475% Jackson (main county for KCMO): 6.6% Each city is different, though, so KCMO is different from Independence (6.6% vs. 7.1% along 39th street). Easier to bank on 7.5% and be happy if it's less. LOL Minimum wage is whatever the going rate is now. I believe it's $6.50. It's tricky as far as cost of living is concerned. One thing that is a must is you HAVE TO have a car! The public transportation stinks, and if you live outside of the city proper, mass transit doesn't exist. Rent differs from suburb to suburb (Kansas City is like a spider web - the city is the hub, but no one lives there, it's all suburbs), so does cost of living. Jackson county MO is cheaper than Johnson county KS, but Wyandotte county KS is about the same as Jackson county MO. Confusing, no? Go online and get a copy of the Renter's Guide for here. It'll be a great place to start. Source(s): I live in Kansas City http://kansascity.apartments.com... http://www.apartmentguide.com/apartments... Other Travel Tips |
