Mansion in Jackson County, Missouri? |
Travel Info I was on vacation about two years ago, visiting family in Kansas City. I was told by several people that I had to go out to Jackson County, Missouri and see the temple maintained by the Community of Christ. After going through the tour there, my wife and I drove around the town, seeing what else was there. After a little while, we ran across some historic mansion that looked like something out of an old horror movie. There were plaques outside telling how the house was built in the Victorian period. I guess tours were given, but it was closed when we got there. Does anyone have any more information about this house? It looked pretty interesting. Travel Tips Where you in Independence MO? Was it the Mormon temple you visited? There are several historic old houses in that area. The vaile mansion is a big old historic home not far from the Truman museum.
