Is downtown Kansas City MO a nice place to live ? |
Travel Info I am thinking to Rent off Paseo street in the Jazz district but I have to do it all over the net Im in Europe so Kind of hard to scope things out first. Pictures look great and no bad reviews on the apartment itself just curious if the general area is all pretty safe and clean ? Travel Tips Downtown KCMO has had a bad rap for awhile now because it has gone somewhat abandoned for awhile. But in the past couple of years, it has really started to liven up. The City Market area downtown is a nice place to live and they have some really nice lofts. There are some other nice lofts to the south of I-70 in downtown KCMO and in the Crown Center area. I would avoid living around the jazz district off Paseo. Although it has also gotten better in recent years, it still has a little ways to go. The jazz district IS a fun place to hang out on the weekends! They have some good night clubs down there. When picking an apartment in downtown KCMO, just be sure to ask about 24 hour security at the building you live in. Some other posters mention other cities in the area that would be nice, but I would say that if you want to live downtown, then a suburb is not going to give you the environment you want. And Arnold, Missouri?? I've never even heard of that. Source(s): Lived in pretty much all areas of Kansas City in my 30 yrs. Other Travel Tips Oh hell no sweetie. Don't... well. good luck. I wouldn't advise it. Look at the Lee's Summit area(about 20 miles east) or Independence Area(an hour to the North) Life long Central Missouri resident No, i live in Missouri and its a ok place to live. The only problem is if you go to St.Louis or any other junky place its more like Grand Theft Auto in some parts...In my opinion go to Arnold MO very nice place Like redwing said, thats not the best place to live. Pick something outside KC. There are a lot of cool places in downtown to live but I wouldn't choose off The Paseo in the jazz district. Look in the area called the River Market if you really want to be in downtown |
