Lawrence! It's a great college city with a nice downtown. It's also very close to KC without actually being in the city.
Lawrence, by far.

Lawrence is cool, hip, happening and is just plain beautiful. Some great people live there, and the city itself is not too snobby to admit its part of Kansas. The vibe there is fantastic, and having the state's largest university there helps attract some great artists, great writers, and overall cool folks.

Lawrence!! I love Kansas City and the surrounding area -- but I live here so it gets pretty boring after a while. Lawrence is only like 45 mins away so you can get there easily. I have had 2 siblings go to KU and one in med school right now. I go visit him all the time.. and they have a great small downtown. Everything there is just so normal -- like in Leawood some people want to do this so people think they are cool or whatever. Lawrence is just a good, fun, laid back city.
Second favorite -- probably Manhattan --- good golf course :)
