Where's the best place to live when you work in Olathe? |
Travel Info I'm looking at jobs in the Olathe area and wondering what the best part of town is. My main concern would be staying close to Olathe, but also being in a really safe and clean area. I'd be looking at renting an apartment if that helps any. Travel Tips I would recommend looking in Olathe in the area East of I35 or Overland park as far away from the railroad tracks as you can, there is many of trains going through the west side and the whistles are extremely loud at all hours of the day and night. They are working on elevating some of the crossings to cut down on the noise however with the upcoming Inter modal hub in Gardner more trains will be going through thus increasing the number of train whistles. Source(s): I live in Olathe and have lived on both sides and still can not get used to the noise from the trains. Other Travel Tips dont live west of murlen - its a bad area. the best area is murlen to pflumm 135 - 151st street id ont know if there are any apartments in that area but its the safest You can work in Olathe and live in Overland Park near the highway (69). There are really nice apartments on College Blvd ono block below Quivera Road. They are called the Waterfront, formerly called College Court Apartments. Reasonably priced and beautiful. Anything east of I-35 is prety good! These people are crazy. There is no bad area in Johnson County period. Might be a little more mexicans in some area but nothing really bad happens here besides a few wierdo's that can happen anywhere. I've lived in Olathe most of my life - there is no bad part of town. The entire town is safe - most of Johnson County really safe. Rent is a lot cheaper on the west side of I-35. Contrary to some peoples belief, you don't live in the ghetto if your on the west side of Mur-Len. Some of the nicest places in town are on the west side. Personally, I kind of like the older houses and apartment buildings around downtown Olathe. If you don't mind a small commute, Gardner is also a nice place to live. It's growing pretty steadily and has some decent restaurants there now. To the best of my knowledge, the rent there is still cheaper than the Olathe area also. |
