Travel Tips
Nairobi's a pretty safe city during the day if you avoid areas such as River Road. The most important thing to remember is not to draw attention to yourself by wearing lots of expensive jewellery / watches or carrying around lots of expensive cameras / accessories.
Stick to the main streets and thoroughfares downtown (e.g., Kenyatta Avenue, Moi Avenue, etc.) and the safer suburbs... Westlands, Parklands, Muthaiga, etc.
I lived in Nairobi for 20years and now live in North America... it's reputation overseas is typically blow out of proportion.
Have fun!
