How should my family prepare for a trip to Kenya? |
Travel Info My parents and I will most likely be visiting Kenya in December for about two weeks--it will be the first time for each of us. We will be going on a safari through the savanna, encountering wild animals and such. I don't know any more details other than those, though. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so we want to make it mostly positive! We'd like to know if we need to receive any vaccinations and shots, and if so, when to get them. Also, if there's anything we need to know about Customs, climate, the political situation, etc., that would be wonderful. Travel Tips Here are sites where you will find replies to your queries. http://wikitravel.org/en/Kenya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/kenya... Enjoy your trip. Source(s): lm Other Travel Tips all im saying isn to bring sunscreen it will help alot since your a tourist i don't think you need to get dressed in something other than your clothes when i went i had to get a few shots before i left. and a month prior i had to drink something mixed with water and again i think it was 3 weeks later exactly and you have to have it on an empty stomache. trust no one, watch out in the markets, you'll have people who will want to help you find things but if they help you your going to have to pay a higher price becuase they are not actually from the shop so they have to sell higher then the shop sells cuz that's how they'll get money. isn't that rainy season? and im not sure when but i know there is an election coming up and things can get rowdy and it can be hot but it can also be cold, so bring clothes for both, sweaters lol why do you need the vaccination for? going through the savanna wont make you sick unless you are sickly.about customs aint nothin realy to worry about because aint much of an hustle.the climate in the savanna is hot and the political situation is very stable.infact the most stable in east and central Africa.im in Kenya staying in Mombasa and you should also consider travelling this sides its much more fan than the savanna.just incase you will need a friend in your visit hit me up my e-mail is denisimaya@yahoo.com.Cheers. weather will be great, very sunny and beautiful politically it will be general elections medically check with your local doctor, get mosquito nets, insect repellant, bug spary also they call them game reserves or parks and not savannah's learn to say Jambo for hello too. Kenya is great and you'll have a good time. being there done that |
