Has anyone been on a Kenyan Safari? Is it worth it? Cost??

Travel Tips
Ohhh yes! Iv had so many holiday trips, but kenya safari is by far the BEST ever. Its worth every penny. Go for it!

I love Kenya!!

Yes it is. I did a safari to Tsavo East and West. If i was to do it again, I would do a Masai Mara safari. Its more expensive, but the difference is that you go driving along the plains in amongst the animals, whereas in the Tsavo safari's you follow a set track. If an animal is half a mile away then that is about as close as your going to get!
Yes, my husband and I went about 4 years ago for one week. There was a deal which cost us about $2200 each for airfare, room, most meals and going to three different camps. We were taken out daily with a guide to see animals. We lucked out in seeing most. It was a wonderful trip and I got lots of pictures. I'm sure there are way more expensive trips, but I don't regret ours. The rooms were great, meals just fine and just a wonderful atmosphere. This travel agency was in Canada.
I went to Kenya in 2000 on a trip sponsored by the Wildlife Conservation Society. It was a two-week trip and cost ~$2500. We went to Aberdare C.C., the Ark, Sweetwaters, Samburu, Lake Nakuru/Elmenteitia, and the Maasai Mara. It was an awesome trip! We saw all of the major animals and had a really good time. never been, but want to go and i know it is exipensive but i think its worth the money, check your travel agency for the best ,adivice.
I went in 1994 and it was the best time ever. I went with a group and was alone within the group. I didn't know anyone else. I was only 22. I did a week safari and a week at Mombasa at the coast. I preferred the safari week. Not just seeing the wildlife but the accommodation, food and scenery are all suberb. I went with Somak Tours. Definitely worth it. You need a fair few injections and malaria tablets as well as mosquito repellent and sun block. The cost back then was somewhere around 拢1,200 for 14 nights full board for safari and bed and breakfast and evening meal at the beach. I recommend it and I am not obsessed with animals. Just a fab experience.
Worth every penny, if you have the time. But go well prepared because some of the comforts of hotels we take for granted will usually not be available. Also get yourself innoculated against Malaria and other disease prevalent in Kenya. Masai Mara is my favorite.
