Travel Info Any one visited hell's gate kenya...would you recommend hell's gate or lake nakuru? Travel Tips It depends on what you want to do. Lake Nakuru is a safari park mainly, where you will ride around in a van and look at all the animals, and occasionally get out. Its very nice and you will get to see alot of animals, rhinos, buffalo, lion and baboons. Most times a trip to Lake Nakuru is combined with a safari to the Mara. Hell's Gate is a really cool place too, although very different. Hell's Gate is for hiking. We rented bicycles and rode around the park which was fun. Also there is a big giant rock that you can climb right inside the front gates, you can't miss it, they usually have rock climber guys there to help you. HIking through the gorge is really cool, its so deep and beautiful, I felt like INdiana Jones or something when I was down there. Also there are some animals running around as well, such as baboons and giraffes. Lake Naivasha is right by Hell's Gate and I spent a few nights at the campgrounds by the lake. I really enjoyed both parks, for a more safari type atmosphere and more animals go to Lake Nakuru but for hiking/bicyling/rock climbing Hell's Gate is much better. Source(s): been to both Other Travel Tips The word Nakuru must have arrived from the Japanese word "Naraku", meaning H- E- double hockeysticks. yes i will recomend it,, it is not hell. Yes if you are intrested in walking safari. it offer spectacular views and the beauty of it all is the gouges that are there. Its a Must visit for birdwatchers also. http://www.kws.org/hells-gate.html... Yes i have. Am Kenyan and infact Naivasha, where Hell's is located, is my birth place. Though Hell's gate is a wonderful place, i find Nakuru to have more to see especially for wildlife lovers and bird watchers. Its more of an adventure than just a visit. But, if you can combine Hell's gate trip with some rock climbing and maybe a visit to the adjacent Cresent Island, it could be fun or maybe some camping or if full of energy, you climb Mt. longonot first, (3hrs to climb and descend) and then proceed to hells gate. that way you have a better trip coz Hells gate can get really hot and dusty and so you may want to spend more time in the vehicle and maybe trekking in the gorges. camp lunch would make the day. Enjoy yourself when you visit. |
