Travel Info Can someone give me a list of major imports in South Korea? Travel Tips As with many countries, the top of the list is petroleum. Korea also imports a lot of steel for recycling. Korea has coal and is largely more than self-sufficient in food items (in fact, there is opposition to import of U.S. beef, rice, and fruits). Locally-produced sugar is from beets, but there is some import of cane sugar. Korea is changing from a manufacturing economy to an information economy (as is the U.S.). Others sneakers machinery, electronics and electronic equipment, oil, steel, transport equipment, organic chemicals, plastics Oil and steel are the big one.
