How do Koreans feel about white women? |
Travel Info I'm really Spanish, but basically I look White. I might be moving to S.Korea in 2 years time, and I was wondering how I would be received over there. Travel Tips If you move into Korean society, you will be loved by many men as long as you're not heavy. I can guarantee that you will be welcomed as a friend since Korean men have good impression on white women and believe they are generally attractive.(Actually it's what all Asian guys think. I used to, but found that to be wrong in the U.S. But that's other story.) But here's one tip. Although you may feel unfamiliar, don't try to be as individualist as you are as a Westerner. I'm not requring you something hard. Just try not to say "It's none of my business" or "I don't care" or "So what? I still get paid" since Koreans think that kind of comments to be extremely rude and immature. If there is a cultural clash, just explain and let them understand. You will probably be very popular. Koreans like light skin. I know of a few American women (in the U.S. military) who made many times as much money as their pay by being "dates" to Korean businessmen. If you are not into that lifestyle, you will still be liked - depending upon your personality. You should find no problems. Formerly was U.S. military commander in Korea, married to a Korean for 39 years, and am an ex-pt now in China who travels to Korea often. They'll think u as Spanish white person, duh. |
