Is it safe to it a kimchi left not refrigerated for 3days? |
Travel Info I bought a kimchi stored in a bottle and i forgot to refrigerate it..and it's my first time to eat it so i don't know what's the difference between a spoiled kimchi and a safe-to-eat one... Travel Tips You can eat it. But it must be too much fermented. It will not that tasty. If you are Korean, they must can handle it (making Kimchi soup or making other food with that), but I guess you are not Korean. Then... buy another new bottle of kimch. Source(s): I am a Korean. Chris. Are you really a Korean? I don't think so. Other Travel Tips My dad spent a year in Korea. . . they MAKE the stuff by burying it underground and letting it "turn". I'll bet it's as safe as it was the day you bought it. pure speculation NO! dont eat it if its been sitting out more than 2 hours ! which in this case its been longer ! just like cured ham, corned beef, smoked fish and other preserved foodstuffs, the process of kimchi making came about because there were no fridges yet and some poor korean farmer wanted to preserve his leftover veggies. you can still eat it if you do not see any white molds on it. Yes. That is not an issue. Kim-chi is fermented in pots. After it has aged properly, it is opened up and eaten. Refrigeration can extend its life for weeks. |
