I'm an American in Korea, and my wife is Korean, how can I get her IV visa? |
Travel Info Who knows the exact steps of how to get an American IV visa for their Korean wives or Husbands. I am NOT in the Army. But I got married while I was in. Travel Tips If you arenot married according to the USA laws then your marriage is not valid in the USA. Korean marriage in its own is not enough. If you even had to ask how to get a visa You sure made some very big mistakes. Go to the US embassey and talk to them. It is not the same for every person. If no embassey where you are the a councelet will do. . Others you could contact the military about that. One of my old sgt. wives was german and he brought her here with him...so it must not be that hard to do....since you were in the army when you married i think there is something about that that makes it possible for you to just take her with you wherever you go...but seriously your best bet is to either go ask a recruiter or contact the military. GOOD LUCK! Go to the American Embassy is Seoul. I believe it's in Tongdaemun. You can apply for her visa there. She'll need a TB test and it will cost you close to $2K by the time you're done. It wouldn't hurt to see one of those Korean immigration lawyers that are all over Itaewon to get her paperwork in order. Start with the U.S. Embassy here is a link to there site.http://seoul.usembassy.gov/iv_general_in... Should answer most your questions |
