Travel Info Does South Korean transportation system use some sorta transportation passes, eg. bus pass, subway pass??? Travel Tips Yes. When you use the Subway in Seoul, you can either buy a ticket, or you can purchase a ride card. You can add money to the card at ATM type machines. All you do is put your card magnetic strip down on the mouth of the machine, add money, and it recharges the card for you. If you are just using the subway ticket, remeber to insert it into the turnstyle slot, go through the bar gate, but remember to pick up your ticket after it pops back up on top of the turnstyle. You will need the ticket to exit the subway system at a different turnstyle by entering your ticket again in the slot. This time the machine will eat the ticket. Same thing on buses, you just press the ride card on a square flat scanner when you get on a bus, and it subtracts the amount on the card. Others yeah, and you could use the same card for either buses and subway. Yeah, I love that card. On top of being easy to carry and use, it also reduces the fare for taking the subway. Plus mine is a discount card and you can use them on some of the snack and drink machines in the subway at the stations if you want to too. everything is easy for transportation in Korea. Taxis are everywhere and you can walk a lot |
