Is it true that some Asian gangs use no weapons for violience? only martial arts? |
Travel Info Which Asian groups operate like this? Travel Tips It depends on the country. I'm living in Korea these days and I know for a fact, to become a gangster you have to have expert martial arts training. This is the first part of becoming a gang member in Korea. You start out at a low level such as a driver or bodyguard, and slowly move up in the ranks as time goes by. Of course as time goes by they get slower so they start packing large knives. Some have guns, but it depends on the region or gang society. Most gangsters in Korea are Taekwondo or Hapkido trained. As far as Japan goes, there are many weapons used that are acquired illegally through the black market. China is the same. It's nothing like the movies. There is alot of corruption around here, and police can be coerced by Gang leaders through bribes and whatnot to get what they want. Most gangs are quiet and keep to themselves. It's not like the West where they blow you away if you wear the wrong color on their turf. Gangs just concentrate on their businesses, usually real estate, nightclubs, the sex industry, and casinos. Some of them are cool, and if you make a friend with one, especially in Korea, they'll treat you nicely. But don't get me wrong, if you cross them the wrong way you will get your butt kicked or even worse if you are a white guy like me. I'm positive asian gangs probably use guns and maybe un numbchucks! the TRIADS! yes it is true that some gangs only use martial arts some train in a martial art called lau gar another form of kung fu but as for wich groups actualy operate like that im not to sure 5th degree blackbelt student in 3 martial arts |
