Is there any popular buildings or something in South Korea?(like france is the eiffel tower)? |
Travel Info im doin a report on south korea x] Travel Tips The two most popular and famous are: 1. Seoul Tower, the world's tallest communications tower http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/n_seoul_tow... Spectacular view of Seoul from high atop Namsan Mountain. 2. Building 66 is one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. Source(s): For Nana: Learn about Seoul before you speak! Building 66 was finished in 2002 by Samoo Architects & Engineers. It is one of the tallest of ALL residential buildings in the world, and as such is noteworthy and deserves mention. It is studied by architects all over the world. Building 63 is a commercial building, at one time it was the tallest building in Asia but since 2002 is no longer even the tallest building in Seoul. The tallest is Mok-dong's Hyperion 1, Tower A . And for Dawn V, people don't visit Seoul Tower just to ride to the top - the revolving restaurant is very popular and a great place to watch fireworks displays from. I've lived in Seoul for more than 15 years. Other Travel Tips As far as an iconic symbol, whenever I think of Seoul, I think of Sungnyemun Gate (also called Namdaemun). It is almost always featured in pictures of South Korea: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/asia/so... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/sungnyemun... I think that it is a good South Korean icon. Seoul Tower, atop Namsan, is definitely the only true competitior. The mountain is a populat walk/hike for Seoulites on a nice day and there is a cable car that will take you to the top. The best time to view, however, is at night, when seoul is lit and Yellow Dust/polution does no obscure. (just after a rain is best for this) Building 63 is popular because it houses IMAX theatre, an aquarium and the view at the top. People go to Seoul Tower only for teh ride to the top.. Building 63 is more for family entertainment. But we have nothing in Korea to compete with other Asian tower like the Jin Mao in ShangHai or anything in Tokyo. me.. I live here Tower on Mt. Namsan &...it's 63 building...not 66.. hmm.... there are a lots but I just can't think of names.. Kyoung-bok Palace.. hm.. You have been told about Namsan Tower and the 63 Building (Hanwha Bank), but I always think of Nam Dae Moon (Great South Gate) as the "symbol" of Seoul. |
