I am planning on teaching in South Korea, would you recommend Public schools over private? |
Travel Info I hear that the contracts are much more reliable. I would like to hear some experiences. Travel Tips I recommend you consider Japan over Korea. I taught English in both places and 90% of teachers prefer Japan. If you are 100% sure on Korea then go to a private school. Do your research though! Some owners aren't good people and they'll try to cheat you. Others gotta be more money in private, but higher expectations private if you want more of a challenge Public schools are administered by the government so you'll definately get a solid contract with them. Private schools (known as hangwons in Korean) pay a bit higher but some are unfortunately notorious for the owners cheating their way out of the contract and the hours are longer too. Personally, having taught at both public and private, I prefer the public schools..so much more professional. I think you should go wtih private schools. the kids are probably better. |
