Teaching English in Korea?....Which Program? ^_^? |
Travel Info I'm getting ready to teach English in S.Korea for 1 year & I'm not sure which program to sign up with. Have you heard of Asknow.com? Any advice would be great....Thxs!! Travel Tips Be careful of which program you choose. Some school owners there are famous for not paying their teachers. eslcafe.com Source(s): I taught there for one year. Other Travel Tips Yes, of course! you must follow by this program now! Yes, of course! you must follow by this program now Give us some more info, and I'll be able to give you some good solid advice. Things like: 1) What kind of a job are you looking for? 2) Are you a qualified teacher? 3) How old are you? 4) What do you expect out of it? It is always better to go for the franchised schools, as you can complain to the head office if things go wrong. (I.e. They don't pay you.) Expat in Korea many years I'm an American ESL teacher in Korea now -- in Yeosu, on the southern coast. In general, I love it in Korea. I have had one VERY bad contract, awful housing and horrible owners. (I have so many stories, I should write a book.) But now I have a great contract in a wonderful city. Please email me your details, and I'd be happy to point out what questions you might ask to try to find a good place. In short, let me say read your contract carefully. Look at total teaching hours. Don't assume things like breaks or meals -- they might be included, but as I found out in my first year, they might not. If you are interested in a smaller town (more of a Lonely Planet experience), I'm sure there are jobs in my city with people I know to be reputable. Good Luck |
