Travel Info Anyone travelled to Okinawa from Korea by ferry? What's it like, is it easy to get a visa if ur not from US? Travel Tips If you are from Korea you don't need a visa. From most places you don't need one. If you are concerned then contact the Japanese Embassy. I've never done it but I know some people who've travelled by ferry. They said it was incredible. Good luck! Others Traveling to Okinawa by ferry would be an excellent mode of transportation. I never knew this was possible. I would be interested in checking into this because we travel to Okinawa quite often. If you are U.S. military sponsored you don't need a visa. If you are a Korean national I'm sure you could easily get a tourist visa. You will get a 90 day "visitor's" Visa to travel. You will just have to go to immigrations and get your passport stamped in when you get there and again when you leave. I dont know about the ferry though. But I need to, because I live in Korea and we are going to Okinawa for vacation in a few weeks. Please e mail me if you find out. THANKS Unfortunately, there is no direct ferry service between Korea and Okinawa. You can take the ferry from Pusan to Hakata, then go to Kagoshima in the south of Kyushu and from there you can take a ferry to Okinawa. |
