Travel Info In Korea, what is a customary gift or greeting to give to someone who is retiring? Travel Tips If they like Whiskey, a fine bottle, Johnny Red or Blue, or Chivas. A lot of Koreans play golf, so if he does, then a nice package of quality golf balls, etc. Others a gold watch and say thanks for all youv'e done, now **** off. Rice cake rules all of the events in Korea. Try those. I'm Korean. ^o^ in offices where groups of people work, the workers usually pitch in & buy a nice gift & card for the retirer. a party or dinner along with the gift is good too. -i understand that u live in the U.S. i still wouldnt say there are really customary gifts for someone is retiring. y dont u try getting that person something based on what u know of that person, or things associated with vacationing. i also agree with KJ, liquors can be used to celebrate the occasion & golf equipments would be great for leisure time after retiring. gl. |
