Sightseeing in south korea?

im staying in asan, chungcheung nam do, south korea, and wanna do some sightseeing. beautiful old (as well as new) architecture, views of nature, cultural stuff. but i dont wanna travel 6 hours to get there. any suggestions?

Travel Tips

You have to go to Gyeongbokgung Palace (The national folk museum of Korea) it is in Seoul. It is HUGE and you can spend a whole day viewing the HUGE Temple grounds and the museums and culture going on there.

If you need an english translator, or seoul tourism information... call 012330 once you are in Korea... it is an english seoul tourism information line, but they can translate to a taxi driver for you, or give you directions to and from anywhere, and tell you about all the cool things going on in korea.

If you go to the following website you can check out festival information too... there is usually always a festival going on in Korea.

Glad to hear that you're in Asan :p My uni is in Asan, too. there are many foreigners in my uni. you can visit my uni and be friends with them. I recommand you to go to Seoul. There are many things to look around. Have you been to most of the places in Asan? Hyunchungsa Is ok to sightsee I think. I'm not quite sure if it's a temple or something else. :) Have you been to folk village in Yongin ? You should visit there ~ :D You'll get to see lots of korean tradition. Have a good day ~~
You have to go to Seoul, it's AMAZING!! The people are actually polite for a change, and there is anything and everything you can imagine! They have free concerts (if you can find them), awesome water parks theme parks (even a Korean version of Disney World!), a building that is 63 STORIES TALL, the best bakeries, that can't possibly compare with the ones in the United States. Another fun place is GeongGu (I forgot how to spell it, sorry about that) it was fun hiking if you like that kind of stuff. Have fun!
