How do you say "wake up" in Korean? |
Travel Info How do you say "wake up" in Korean? Travel Tips Informal (If you were saying it to a friend or something) 鞚检柎雮?(Ee-leo-na) I'm bad with romanization...but the "leo" is said like "duh" and the "na" is said like "ah" Formal (To adults, strangers, etc.) 鞚检柎雮橃劯鞖?(Ee-leo-na-se-yo) Again, the same for the first three letters. The "se" is pronounced like "eh" Others Can't spell in korean well, but it sounds like "ee run nah," it also works for "get up" iel-uh-na! (informal) iel-uh-na-seh-yo~ (formal) i think many can agree on that this can be a very good romanization of the statement. [; Well, 鞚检柎雮橂嫟 literally means "rise" or "get up" instead of "wake up" but as a credit to the others, Koreans use "get up" more often than they say "wake up." That said, "wake up" is literally "鞛犾潉 旯毎雼?quot; or to be polite "鞛犾潉 旯毎靹胳殧" The principle difference is that "get up" or 鞚措煬雮?can only sometimes mean "wake up" but "鞛犾潉 旯泴" always means "wake up." Here is the romanization: jameul ggae useyo I've cited the difference between the two below. Hope that helps. http://endic.naver.com/endic.nhn?docid=1... http://endic.naver.com/endic.nhn?docid=2... 2004 - 2006 Korean National Speech Contest Grand Champion |
