Who is the most popular singer in South Korea? |
Travel Info like shinwa Travel Tips Globally, Rain/Bi has to be the most popular and most successful. He's conquered all of Asia with the help of his management company JYP Entertainment and he's about to conquer America as well. He was the first Korean to perform at the Tokyo Dome and I believe the first Korean to have such a huge tour in the U.S. His concerts at Madison Square Garden in 2006 were sold out. He was one of the 100 most beautiful people named by People magazine. He was one of the 100 most influential people named by Time magazine in 2006. This year, he didn't make it to the official list, but ranked number one by the people. (There was a place where you could place who were the most influential people in your opinion and he got #1) So Rain/Bi is undoubtably the most popular globally. In Asia, there are quite a few. You mentioned Shinhwa. They would be one of them. I was surprised at first, but I think it's well deserved. Of course Rain/Bi. I can't really think of others at the moment, but I would say there are several. If you narrow it down to Japan, BoA owns it. She was listed as a favorite singer in Japan in a poll for like 5 years straight. She's had numerous successful albums there. She's definitely earned the respect of the Japanese. In China, Jang Nara is very popular there. I'm not sure of any others. In South Korea, Dong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ) has to be the dominating one. Their records aren't the best selling but they sell a lot and they have such a wide fan base that it's impossible for other artists to compete with them. (For example, SG Wannabe sold the most records in 2006, but because they don't come on TV programs or do endorsements, it's hard for them to find such loyal, devoted fans like TVXQ can.) If you had to pick a female, Lee Hyori hands down. She's the highest paid female artist as of now. So in all, Rain/Bi, TVXQ, BoA, Lee Hyori are the top artists from Korea. Others Celine Dion. maybe yeah, is RAIN" but TEI have the most beautiful voice in Korea,...u have to listen his songs,....i love this guy,...TEI ^&^ i love you,......... i think currently BoA & Bi (aka Rain) (by the way, it's DongBahngShinGi - DBSG, i guess it's TVXQ in Chinese) MC MONG OWNS ALL!!! :] and bi.. maybe epic high... and also maybe seven... Bi (rain). Se7en is pretty popular too though, but I guess not as popular as Bi though. TVXQ and Super Junior |
