Why do Koreans use Dancing Girls for Grand Openings? |
Travel Info I am not saying it's a bad thing. Actually, I kind of like it, but I am curious why they do that? Travel Tips "Sex sells" or in this case you could say "sexiness sells". In a patriarchal culture where "boys will be boys" is still the norm and feminism and political correctness are still in their infancy this is seen as perfectly normal. That's why you can see girls in dancing outfits on pickup trucks with loudspeakers as well. (they are the mobile version of the "grand opening") Others to attract customers & stick out, so they can promote their products. [; well, never seen that actually but probably for advertising isnt it? since dancing, b-boys, b-girls, etc have become extremely popular in korea nowadays, ppl like seeing dancers, so it will attract more people. the koreans are really into being sexual when it comes to dances or to photos. So its not shocking if they have girls dancing. |
