Why do Koreans do things at the last minute? |
Travel Info This is by no means a form of racism or slander to Korean people or their culture. However, from my own personal experience working I have noticed that Koreans have a tendency of doing things at the last minute. Examples such as having materials ready, or notifying people meeting/events with little advanced notice. I am just curious if it's a cultural thing. If so, why? Has anyone else experienced this? I have experienced the mad scramble many times. Travel Tips I think (and this after being in Korea for going on 11 years) that Korean people have a very hard time planning ahead. Just watch someone trying to parallel park!! I've often said that Korean culture is the opposite of army culture. Army culture is "hurry up and wait", while Korean culture is "wait and hurry up." Why this is so is still an mystery to me. I've asked my Korean friends and while they all agree that this is the case, no one really knows WHY. I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say...especially some Korean readers out there!! Others Really....????? Since when??? Filipinos do that to. :) i always thought koreans were not like that.. Well im a korean and i do EVERYTHING last minute.. so YAY!!!!! IM NOT WIERD Your experience is the opposite of what trends I've observed. My Korean counterparts tend to be far more organized and heirarchal than my American counterparts. Maybe it is just the folks you are encountering. I am korean. many Koreans do things at the last minute. yes, It's like our cultural thing. I think It has something to do with our bad temper. we always like doing something fast and rush doing things at the last minute. It is not a cultural thing. It is a personality issue. Unfortunately, you're just near very last-minute people.. go to a norebang & relieve some stress! [; |
